About Us

Cory was born in Philadelphia, but raised in Deerfield Beach, Florida. I was born and raised in Springfield, Virginia right outside of Washington, DC. Cory is a die-hard Eagles and Phillies fan, whereas I am a Redskins and Nationals fan. Cory currently teaches Integrated Science to freshman at Boca Raton Community High School and is the Assistant Coach of the Boca Bobcats wrestling team. I moved to Florida because I accepted a job at the largest advertising agency in South Florida, but found out very quickly that automobile advertising was not my passion and am now very happy temping.
We currently live in Deerfield Beach and enjoy seeing old and new movies, going to the beach, and doing almost anything else as long as we’re together. Cory’s loves include fishing, bad horror movies, and fixing anything that could possibly need fixing in our condo. I enjoy exercising, making a mess, and smelling Cory after a long day of fishing.

How We Met

We found each other on Jdate two weeks before I moved to South Florida for a job in advertising. In those two weeks Cory and I logged in almost every night to chat online. He finally asked me if he could take me out once I moved to Florida and I agreed with slight wariness. His pictures on Jdate only showed the left side of his face and the one picture he sent me of his whole face was from a costume party where he was wearing sunglasses, a mid-drift basketball jersey, and cut-off short-shorts (very attractive.)
Once I moved, I waited for, what seemed like, an eternity for our date to roll around. On Saturday night, which was my first weekend in South Florida, Cory picked me up in front of my grandparents’ condo. We had a few drinks, braved some rain, saw a movie with plenty of unexpected and embarrassing nudity, and ate at Denny’s at 3 am. Our date ended past 4 am, just when the rain was really picking up. I told Cory to call me when he got home so I would know he was okay. Cory text messaged me exactly 23 minutes after leaving. I was amazed…that was a quick drive home. Little did I know he had messaged me early on purpose so I wouldn’t be deterred by the actual 40 minute drive. It worked.
We spent practically every weekend together after our first date. The second weekend I impressed Cory with my ability to look like a slob and quote Ace Ventura. The third weekend we went to Orlando to visit Islands of Adventure. The fourth weekend he met my grandparents and great aunt and uncle, and I met his parents.
And the rest is history!
